IAM X-ray Automation is the module that writes. Terminations, transfers and onboarding run one at a time or from a CSV, in Active Directory and in Entra ID, with the manager and failure notifications that go with them. Approvals put a person in front of anything that needs one. Scheduled agents and folder watchers run the same work unattended, so a leaver processed at 17:05 is disabled at 17:06. The Entra single sign on module creates and reviews Entra applications, so the sign on estate stops drifting between reviews. Automation writes. What it can see and report on is the Audit and Governance module, sold separately. Most teams buy both, with different seat counts: everyone who investigates needs Audit, and only the people who execute changes need Automation. Licences are per seat, and one seat is one device. Your DNA Technology account holds the licence: buy the seats you need, download the signed licence file from your account, and IAM X-ray reads it. The file works on a machine with no internet access.
